Purple Butterfly, part 2

Here is the purple butterfly from a few days ago, reduced to 3/4 inch (18mm) diameter.  A little bit of distortion with the upper wings, but overall not too bad.    And here is the cane reduced to 1/4 inch (5mm) diameter.  Slices of the design will be used for fimo nail art.   Click on either of read more..

Reducing a large cane

This is my newest purple butterfly cane.  I finished it last night for a wholesale order.  The cane weighs just over 3 pounds.  It will yield approximately 600 - 900 segments, depending on their diameter and length.  I reduced it right away rather than letting it cool;  I prefer that method.  The initial reduction is made read more..
